We have an update release of SDScribe™ 2019, v. 5.08. (The previous release was v.5.06.)
Aside from fixing various bugs/issues in the previous version, it features a somewhat more streamlined interface for the batches section (part of the “Inventory/Production Manager” option).
The batches section now performs calculations in the background as you enter ingredients and their amounts:
Total batch size
Number of containers required
Ingredient concentrations
Volatiles/VOCs calculations for paints and inks (you must enter the solids, volatiles, etc., for the individual ingredient properties in the Substances section of the program)
Estimated product density in pounds per gallon (which you can insert back into the product properties, for improved estimates when you’re selling on a by-volume rather than a by-weight basis)
You can build batches by:
Entering ingredients and their individual amounts (a “recipe”); or
Entering ingredients and their individual concentrations
The background calculation features only work for the “recipe” approach. For the concentrations approach, you enter the individual ingredient concentrations to make 100 percent, and then specify the batch size. The program can then calculate the ingredient amounts for the recipe.
You can see an updated “what’s new” summary here.
