We’ve released a minor update to the program. It is free for licensed SDScribe™ 2023 users, and you can either update the program when reminded (on program startup), or from our existing customers page. A full list of the updates appears in the “About SDScribe™” box (Help menu). Among the changes:
Updated import files for Canadian Domestic and Non-Domestic Substance Lists (DSL and NDSL, revised as of 9.18.2023)
Updated Right To Know import files for Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The Massachusetts import is actually from the state’s Toxic Use Reduction Act (TURA), so it’s renamed within the program. Additionally, these imports now appear in the program’s “About…” box (Help menu, About SDScribe™…, Environment tab).
The ability to search for SDSs in the browse list that are not marked “Not dangerous goods”, suggesting that the corresponding products are subject to transportation regulations.
The ability to search for Substance in the browse list that have right-to-know regulatory listings (Massachusetts TURA, New Jersey RTK, or Pennsylvania RTK). They appear in the Search menu under “Right to Know lists”.
The program will now recognize if the emergency phone number in the SDS Identification section has carriage returns. If so, it will insert the text at the shallower indent used for block (paragraph) style text, rather than the deeper indent that is the default for phone numbers. You can change the indent between the two levels manually in the word processing area, by clicking into the emergency phone number text, and selecting either “IndtTxt04” for the shallower indent, or “IndtTxt275” for the deeper indent.
