We’ve released a minor update to the program. It is free for licensed SDScribe™ 2023 users, and you can either update the program when reminded (on program startup), or from our existing customers page. A full list of the updates appears in the “About SDScribe™” box (Help menu).
The most important change is a fix for an issue which, under certain circumstances, may result in the error, “The pointer is not properly initialized”. The error seems to occur when adding a component in Section 3 for an SDS using GHS revision “US” (as selected in Section 2).
If the component itself includes a GHS hazard classification that is not included in the “US” GHS revision, and is also not included in most other GHS revisions that the program searches, then the program may display this error.
Also included in this update, among other things:
EU and UK REACH numbers can now be entered with the last four digits masked ("-xxxx") for confidentiality/trade secrecy.
When right-clicking on a row in the Substances browse list, a new option is available, "List batches containing selected Substances". The program will display the Batches browse list, showing the relevant batches (if any).
The Paste button on the SDS entry form allows you to select among component substances, SDS templates, and now also non-template SDSs, to obtain content to copy over into the SDS you are editing.
