We added another minor update to SDScribe™ (v.8.05). It is a free update for licensed SDScribe™ 2022 users.
This update addresses an issue with the title of SDS Section 9, “Physical and chemical properties”. The UN Purple Book (Versions 7 and later) appeared to have changed this title to “Physical and chemical properties and safety characteristics”, but this change appears to have been unintentional.
In addition, v.8.05 adds a few new features:
A user-assigned SDS serial number on Tab “1 Identification”, which can appear in the headers or the footers of the generated SDS. Click on the “SDS no.” button at the top of the entry form to assign a random alphanumeric code.
The header in the generated SDS can also include the SDS version number and the date of issue.
An option to re-name the “Other means of identification” field on Tab “1 Identification”. For example, you might call it “Other product codes”.
An option to re-name the “DOT” field on Tab “14.1 Transportation (US)”. For example, you might name it “TDG” in Canada or “ADG” in Australia, to reference the dangerous goods regulations in those countries.
An option to reorganize the physical and chemical properties in SDS Section 9, so that they are largely in the same order as specified in the US-OSHA Hazard Communication Standard from 2012 (and the Canadian WHMIS 2015).
